Coeliac UK's successful first Food Conference

The first ever conference, held earlier this month by Coeliac UK, to better educate the food service sector and food manufacturers was a great success.

The one day conference, held at the Park Inn Hotel Heathrow, included eminent speakers and presentations on important issues surrounding the provision of gluten-free food. 

Kristina Lagestrand Sjolin, of the Swedish National Food Administration, exclusively announced the recently agreed changes to be made to the Codex standard.  Only foods with less the 20mg gluten/kg can be labeled as gluten-free.  While the implementation timeline is still to be agreed, Coeliac UK is delighted with this excellent break through, as this is the culmination of many years of work and contribution.
