The first entry ballot for the Great North Run is now open

Great North RunThe Daily Telegraph has a guaranteed 3,000 places available this week. Simply obtain a copy of the Daily Telegraph between today, Monday 7th January, and Friday 11th January for your opportunity to secure one of the places. The draw for these entries will be made the week commencing 14th January, and successful applicants will be informed by Friday January 18th. All unsuccessful Telegraph applicants will be entered into the draw for the general BUPA Great North Run entry ballot which takes place the week commencing February 11th. After the general ballot all applicants will be notified as to whether they have been successful by February 18th.

You will be able to enter the general ballot from 9a.m. on Saturday 12th January at www.greatrun.org  All applicants will be required to submit payment details at the time of entering the ballot. Payment will only be taken if the entry application is successful.

There are a number of other Great Run events that are taking place in the coming months that might well be of interest to you. If you fancy a weekend away why not consider the 10k Great Ireland Run in Dublin on Sunday 6th April or the BUPA Great Edinburgh Run on Sunday May 4th over the same distance? There are a broad selection of runs throughout 2008 for people of all abilities and you can find out more at www.greatrun.org.
